PP Woven Bags
Packaging requirements for grains, feed, fertilisers and other dry bulk materials — define the fabric, closure and barrier around the contents.
Polypropylene woven bags use interlaced polymer tapes to form a flexible packaging fabric. Their suitability depends on the bag construction and the product being packed. Size alone does not establish carrying capacity, moisture protection or suitability for direct contact with food.
Share your packing application with Gajpex to discuss the requirement. Available constructions, printing, quantities and supply arrangements must be confirmed for the specific enquiry.
Choose the construction around the contents
Uncoated woven fabric
A woven construction can allow air and fine particles to pass through gaps in the weave. Consider the particle size and whether ventilation is useful before deciding on this format.
Laminated constructions
A surface layer can change the fabric’s barrier and printing characteristics. Confirm the coating specification and bag closure; lamination alone does not make the whole package watertight.
Inner liners
A separate liner may help manage fine powders or moisture-sensitive contents. Specify liner material, thickness, fit and sealing method as part of the complete bag requirement.
Printed packaging
Agree artwork, colours, print area and identification details. Check mandatory information for the packed product separately and approve the final artwork before a production commitment.
Applications to discuss
- Grain and seed packaging, with appropriate contact suitability.
- Animal-feed sacks matched to the product and storage conditions.
- Fertiliser packaging with confirmed material compatibility.
- Dry granular and powdered products with suitable containment.
Specify more than the nominal bag size
Start with the product’s bulk density, intended fill weight and filling equipment. A bag for a dense granular material can need different dimensions and construction from a bag holding the same weight of a light powder.
| Contents | Material name, particle size and bulk density where known. |
|---|---|
| Dimensions | Finished width, length, gusset and measurement units. |
| Fabric | Required GSM or construction, coating and colour. |
| Barrier | Lamination, liner and moisture-control requirements. |
| Closure | Top opening, bottom construction and sealing arrangement. |
| Artwork | Print colours, placement, identification and approved file. |
| Supply | Quantity, packing count, delivery location and required date. |
Check a filled sample before scaling up
Evaluate filling, closing, stacking and handling with representative contents. Inspect the fabric and closure after handling, and agree any required tests with the supplier. A stated GSM is not a certified safe working load.
For food or feed applications, request relevant contact documentation for the actual construction, including liners and inks where applicable. Keep packaging dry and protected from prolonged sunlight unless outdoor exposure has been specified.
Common questions
Are PP woven bags waterproof?
Uncoated woven fabric should not be assumed waterproof. The coating, liner, seams and top closure together determine how the package manages moisture.
Can the bags be printed with our branding?
Include the artwork and print requirements in your enquiry. Printing availability, colour limits, minimum quantity and lead time need confirmation before ordering.
What fill weights are available?
Provide your intended fill weight and contents so a suitable construction can be discussed. No universal capacity is claimed for all woven bags.
Are PP woven sacks the same as FIBC bulk bags?
They are different packaging formats. Large bulk bags with lifting loops require their own design and handling specifications; an ordinary sack is not a substitute.
